Worcester turn to Carl Hogg?

According to widespread reports, new Worcester Warriors boss Dean Ryan will appoint Gloucester's Carl Hogg as his new forwards coach.

Ryan worked with Hogg while he was at the Cherry and Whites and according to Worcester News, the Warriors have made contact with Gloucester. If Hogg agrees to a switch to Sixways, then he will link up with Worcester's new attack coach Shane Howarth.

Exeter Chiefs tee up Fetu'u Vainikolo

Exeter Chiefs are on the verge of signing Connacht flyer Fetu'u Vainikolo according to reports in the Rugby Paper. The winger, according to the newspaper, recently turned down London Irish's advances and seems set for Sandy Park.

Sale Sharks circling Dan Bowden?

Reports in the Rugby Paper claim that Sale are interested in recruiting Dan Bowden from the Leicester Tigers. Bowden has made just seven appearances for the Tigers in the Aviva Premiership, after joining them from London Irish pre-season, and he could be open to a move north.

Saints close in on pair of Kiwis

Northampton Saints have signed Otago duo Glenn Dickson and Rob Verbakel ahead of next season, according to reports in New Zealand.

Dickson can play across the back line and is also an accurate goal kicker - he has reportedly penned a two-year contract with the Saints. He is set to be joined at the Aviva Premiership club by second-row Verbakel who has previously played for the Glasgow Warriors.

Claassens waits on Toulon deal

Bath scrum-half Michael Claassens will have to wait until the summer to see if his proposed move to Toulon will happen.

The former Springbok scrum-half has agreed a deal with the Top 14 side but will have to see if he is required following Jonny Willkinson’s decision to sign a new one-year deal, according to the Rugby Paper.

London Irish fail in Vainokolo bid

London Irish have failed to sign Connacht winger Fetu’u Vainikolo, according to the Rugby Paper.

The 28-year-old joined Connacht in 2011 but was only offered a new one-year deal by the Irish side. It is believed that he could now move to France, potentially Pau.

London Irish keen on Blair Cowan?

London Irish are on the verge of signing Worcester Warriors back-rower Blair Cowan, according to reports in Worcester News.

Cowan has found his first-team opportunities limited at Sixways this term and looks set to leave the club at the end of the season. The newspaper claims that he is probably heading to the Exiles while the Warriors are looking at London Welsh No.8 Ed Jackson as a potential replacement.

Leicester Tigers have failed in a late bid for Gonzalo Camacho who is set to leave Exeter Chiefs for France, according to the Rugby Paper.

The report says Leicester failed to agree personal terms with the Argentina international who is attracting attention from Racing Metro and Stade Francais.

Castres capture Gray

Top 14 side Castres are set to sign Scotland international lock Richie Gray from Sale Sharks, according to the Rugby Paper.

The paper reports that the 23-year-old will sign a three-year contract after the details are finalised next month with the French side set to pay a substantial fee to the Sharks, who are threatened with Premiership relegation.

Richie Gray's days at Sale numbered?

Scotland lock Richie Gray could leave the Sale Sharks at the end of the season, according to reports in the Manchester Evening News.

The newspaper claims that Gray's advisor's have held discussions with Castres while Gloucester and Saracens are also rumoured to be interested. Gray reportedly has an escape clause in his contract if Sale are relegated but even if the Sharks stay up, the newspaper says that the club will not stand in his way if he opts to leave.

Ospreys scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i is set to join the Northampton Saints at the end of the season, according to reports in the South Wales Evening Post. Fotauli'i has flourished at the Ospreys since his arrival in 2011 but this looks likely to be his last season with the Saints reportedly offering the scrum-half a contract worth £250,000-a-year.

Stade Francais close in on Taulafo

London Wasps prop Zac Taulafo has reportedly signed a three-year deal with Top 14 giants Stade Francais. The loose-head has made 51 appearances since he joined them in 2010 but looks set to leave the club at the end of the season. L'Equipe also claims that Stade have secured Andrea Cocagi from L'Aquila.

Gloucester target Sale second-row

ESPNscrum understands that Gloucester are chasing Sale Sharks second-row Kearnan Myall as they look to fill two spots in their lock department ahead of next season. Gloucester will lose skipper Jim Hamilton to France at the end of the current campaign while stalwart Alex Brown has been forced to retire.

And it seems that coach Nigel Davies is keen on recruiting Sale's Myall to bolster their second-row options. Davies is also reported to be interested in Leicester second-row Geoff Parling's services with the England lock yet to announce where he will play his rugby next season.

Sale Sharks are thought to be closing in on the signature of former All Blacks flanker Dan Braid. The Premiership strugglers revealed this week that they were trailing an ex-New Zealand international who they hoped would bolster their survival efforts but would not be drawn on their identity. Mitchell in Sale's sights

Sale Sharks are reported to be trying to bring in former All Blacks and England assistant coach John Mitchell. The north-west club are struggling at the bottom of the Aviva Premiership and recently sacked forwards' coach Steve Scott. The Sunday Times claims that Mitchell, who is currently embroiled in a legal wrangle after being sacked by the South African side The Lions, is on Sale's radar and quote 'one of Sale's international contingent' as saying, "We've heard about John's approach, now we'll have to see for ourselves."

Tuilagi to return to the Tigers?

The Rugby Paper reports that Leicester Tigers are contemplating whether to try and tempt Alesana Tuilagi back to the club after Japan's season comes to an end. Tuilagi left Welford Road last summer and the Tigers have brought in a variety of new signings, but you can't help but feel that if Tuilagi becomes available then he will be wearing red and green by the end of the season.

Reports on getreading.co.uk suggest that London Irish have completed a deal to sign Jerry Yanuyanutawa from the Brumbies. The Fijian international played for the national side over the summer and in doing so, ended his hopes of extending his time at the Brumbies.

London Irish back-row Richard Thorpe looks set to become the latest player to swap the Madejski Stadium for Leicester's Welford Road home. Despite reports suggesting that London Welsh have signed Tom Voyce, ESPNscrum understands that it is yet to happen. The Exiles are in the market for players of proven Aviva Premiership quality but they are yet to tie up a deal for the former Wasps and Gloucester winger. Their priority is understood to be in the front-row with a tight-head top of their shopping list.

Exiles deny deal with Stewart

London Irish boss Brian Smith has denied reports linking his side with Manly Sea Eagles star Brett Stewart. Smith told the Reading Chronicle: "We're not interested in Brett Stewart. He's a very good player but we haven't had any contact with him or his agent, it's just paper talk. The story has been put out to try and improve the deal that he can get."

Exiles chasing rugby league star

London Irish have tabled a huge over to try and tempt rugby league star Brett Stewart to cross codes and journey from Australia to the Aviva Premiership, according to reports. The Herald Sun claims that the star could collect up to AUS$850,000 (£546k) a season at the Exiles with a source telling the newspaper: "London Irish have the money.

"Rugby union has a salary cap twice the size of Super League. Brett Stewart would be a sensation over here. We watch him play NRL every week. He is an amazing athlete. He would set alight our competition."

St Helens rugby league star Jamie Foster is ready to activate a release cause in his contract and cross to union at the end of the Super League season in October, The Rugby Paper reports. He has previously turned down two offers from union clubs, but with Saints hoping to free up some space in their salary cap, they are prepared to let the winger, who has over a 90 percent kicking record, leave.

Tigers close in on South African lock

Leicester Tigers are closing in on the signature of South African lock Robert Andrew from French D2 side Pau.

"We're not sure how Ed Slater will be and we hope there will be no issues with Jordan Crane and Louis Deacon, but we are not sure and need cover in that area," Tigers' CEO Simon Cohen told BBC Radio Leicester. "He's played in the rough environment [in Division Two in France] and he and has done pretty well there."

Davies to Gloucester?

Various reports suggest that Scarlets boss Nigel Davies is the man chosen by Gloucester to replace the outgoing Bryan Redpath. Redpath resigned from his post as head coach in April amid rumours that he was set to take up the vacant director of rugby post at the Sale Sharks. Despite rumours linking Gloucester with John Brain, it seems that Davies is the man chosen by board member Ryan Walkinshaw to succeed Redpath.

Macleod back in the mix?

Reports in the Scotsman suggest that former Edinburgh lock Scott Macleod is going to leave his club in Japan and bolster the Newcastle Falcons' second-row resources. Macleod is falling foul of the restrictions on foreigners in the Japanese top flight so he has reportedly agreed to sign off the last year of his contract to take up a new deal at Newcastle.

The newspaper also claims that Gloucester scrum-half Rory Lawson may join Macleod at the Falcons.

Reports are circling that former Bath flanker Michael Lipman could be set for a return to England with the Newcastle Falcons. Lipman left Bath back in the summer of 2009 and is currently plying his trade for the Melbourne Rebels. Agulla to France or England?

Leicester Tigers' star winger Horacio Agulla has agreed terms with a club in either England or France, according to the Leicester Mercury. The Argentinian winger has been one of the Tigers' star players this season as he formed a lethal partnership with Alesana Tuilagi on the flanks. But due to the newly coined Rugby Championship coming to the fore this summer, Agulla's availability is vastly restricted.


"I have another club but I have not signed yet," Agulla told the Leicester Mercury. "I could be in England or I could be in France. I always wanted to stay in Leicester. I don't care about other clubs or money and I always put my rugby first. But I have spoken to Leicester and I understand it is hard for them to sign a player who is going to be away for a long time."
