Clermont eye Halfpenny

Clermont Auvergne have reportedly set their sights on signing Wales fullback Leigh Halfpenny.

The Rugby Paper claims the French giants will make a move for the 24-year-old at the end of the next season when his current contract with PRO12 side Cardiff Blues expires. The newspaper suggests that Clermont see Halfpenny as the perfect replacement for current fullback - and another Wales international - Lee Byrne whose contract runs until next season.
