Reports in the Sydney Morning Herald claim that Berrick Barnes has signed for Japanese side the Panasonic Wild Knights on a one-year contract starting after the 2013 Super Rugby season.

Goode's days at Worcester numbered?

According to reports in the Rugby Paper, Worcester fly-half Andy Goode could leave the club at the end of the season with his contract currently up for renewal. Goode has been linked with Newport and Newcastle while the Warriors are reportedly keen on Harlequins half-back Rory Clegg.

Tigers on the prowl for Italian prop?

According to reports in the Leicester Mercury, the Leicester Tigers will turn to Fabio Staibano to fill the gap left by Martin Castrogiovanni if he opts for a move to Toulon. Castrogiovanni's future is still unclear but the Tigers are reportedly keen on bringing in the former Wasps tight-head.

Fotuali'i on verge of becoming a Saint

Ospreys scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i is set to join the Northampton Saints at the end of the season, according to reports in the South Wales Evening Post. Fotauli'i has flourished at the Ospreys since his arrival in 2011 but this looks likely to be his last season with the Saints reportedly offering the scrum-half a contract worth £250,000-a-year.

Sackey's days at Stade are over

According to reports in L'Equipe, former England winger Paul Sackey will not have his contract renewed at Stade Francais. He joined the club in 2011 but like his team-mate Francis Fainifo, it seems that he will leave the Parisian side at the end of the season.

Toulon to move for Munster prop?

According to reports in L'Equipe, Toulon are keen on adding Munster prop BJ Botha to their burgeoning front-row resources. The Top 14 big-spenders are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Leicester's Martin Castrogiovanni and also appear to be keen on securing Botha.

Kennedy on Gloucester's radar?

Toulon second-row Nick Kennedy is reportedly on Gloucester's wanted list ahead of next season, according to Midi Olympique. The Cherry and Whites will lose Jim Hamilton at the end of the season while Alex Brown has been forced to retire.

Kahn Fotuali'i a wanted man

A host of Europe's leading clubs are reportedly chasing the signature of highly-rated Ospreys scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i.

The Samoan international is out of contract with the region at the end of this season with The Rugby Paper reporting that the 30-year-old has attracted interest from Premiership sides Saracens, Northampton and Bath, Irish province Munster and French clubs Toulouse, Racing Metro and Castres. But the Ospreys are also hopeful of agreeing a new deal with the in-form No.9 who joined them from the Crusaders two years ago.

Shingler lines up Scarlets return

London Irish's Steve Shingler is set to return to the Scarlets, according to the South Wales Evening Post. The fly-half has spent the past two seasons at the Exiles, before which he played for the Scarlets, but according to the news paper, he has agreed to return to Wales.

Stade Francais close in on Taulafo

London Wasps prop Zac Taulafo has reportedly signed a three-year deal with Top 14 giants Stade Francais. The loose-head has made 51 appearances since he joined them in 2010 but looks set to leave the club at the end of the season. L'Equipe also claims that Stade have secured Andrea Cocagi from L'Aquila.

Bath eye Matt Garvey?

Bath are chasing London Irish lock Matt Garvey, according to the Rugby Paper. Gary Gold's side have already been linked with Exiles' Jonathan Joseph and Anthony Watson but reports in the paper claim they are also interested in Garvey. The 25-year-old is also understood to be on Harlequins and Saracens' radar.

Gloucester target Sale second-row

ESPNscrum understands that Gloucester are chasing Sale Sharks second-row Kearnan Myall as they look to fill two spots in their lock department ahead of next season. Gloucester will lose skipper Jim Hamilton to France at the end of the current campaign while stalwart Alex Brown has been forced to retire.

And it seems that coach Nigel Davies is keen on recruiting Sale's Myall to bolster their second-row options. Davies is also reported to be interested in Leicester second-row Geoff Parling's services with the England lock yet to announce where he will play his rugby next season.

Botha welcomes Smit to Toulon

South Africa second-row Bakkies Botha has seemingly confirmed that World Cup-winning hooker and captain John Smit will join Toulon next season. Smit has been strongly linked with a one-year stint at Toulon after his Saracens contract finishes this season.

And Botha, when welcoming new recruit Bryan Habana to Toulon, also greeted Smit. Botha's Tweet read: "Welcome @bigjoevn @JohnSmit123 @BryanHabana Danie Rossouw and maby Classens let see. Small boktown in Toulon Lets go RCT." (sic)

Bekker eyeing move overseas

Stormers and Springbok lock Andries Bekker is reported to be in the market for a move overseas, according to South African publication Die Burger.

The 29-year-old, who will see out his contract with Western Province at the end of the year, is reportedly being courted by clubs in England, France and Wales but a contract extension with Western Province is still not out of the question.

Johnston lined up by Sarries

Harlequins tight-head James Johnston could follow in the footsteps of his brother Cencus and sign for Saracens. ESPNscrum understands that Johnston has held discussions with Saracens about a possible switch to the Copthall stadium and the prop is understood to be contemplating a deal that will see him replace Carlos Nieto, who looks likely to be retiring at the end of the season.

Heymans to leave Bayonne

Bayonne and former France flyer Cedric Heymans has taken advantage of a clause in his contract that allows him to leave the club at the end of the season. It is unclear whether he will play on, as he is in the twilight years of his career, but he is adamant that he will not "close any doors".
